Massage cupping is essentially the inverse of the typical deep tissue or trigger point massage therapy. Instead of exerting pressure on the different points of the body for healing, massage cupping uses suction to to tug the skin, tissues and muscles upwards. The vacuum created in the cup lifts and separates tissue structures creating gaps thus allowing muscles and tissues to release any toxins in which the circulating lymph can then carry them away for natural elimination from the body. As blood rushes to fill the area, it brings with it fresh oxygen and nutrients that help heal the stressed muscles, tissues and fascia. Massage cupping can be used to treat such ailments as stiff sore muscles, stress, migraines, fatigue and exhaustion, back and neck pain, just to mention a few.
